Zerodha's flagship trading platform Kite Web is now available as an iOS app! I had setup the bank mandate and wanted to change the mandate to another bank. I can not explain the painful journey of frustration and anger I had in order to get this done. No one was ready to take the responsibility.
After roughly two months of back and forth with both the parties, Zerodha finally deleted the existing mandate. Thanks to this incident, I did not setup the mandate again. I hope you take this feedback and try to improve the service.
One thing which can happen right away is a follow up. Imagine how painful it is for a user to keep following up with support to get something done even after writing tons of emails and opening tickets. Apart from the technical difficulties related to finance and apis, the app is a hot pile of garbage. There are features given which do not help in any way. The consol is utterly useless and is only there only to increase the feature set instead of actually helping me analyse my holdings.
There is an option to make portfolios under watchlist. You can buy stocks from there but after you have bought them there is no information about what you have bought and how they have been performing. If you want to diversify your portfolio with more than two assets then its even pointless to keep track of your assets from their watchlist.
Its not like kite uses their own charts, they get info from tradingview, so i dont know why i should even consider to keep my watchlist there us its only going to function as a glorified excel sheet. I hope whoever is responsible actually takes an hour or two to understand and think how their product works instead of just putting half baked features that need external apps to actually get any stuff done. Its not that hard, but it looks like a lazily implementation of something that I could recommend to my friends.
After over 1 month of applying by filling so many forms and sending via currier 3 times I am waiting as they cannot figure out whats the problem opening account since a week.
They had informed all documents have been received and application approved and account will open in hours.
